From Australia to Abersoch for the Noble Marine RS200 Nationals!
Jonny Harrison first sailed an RS200 way back in 1998, and now living in Australia, will be making an across-the-world journey to sail at the Noble Marine RS200 Nationals at SCYC, Abersoch this Summer.
We asked him why and this is what he said -
"For me the RS200 is the perfect balance of fun, performance and accessible sailing. Being able to sail with either a mate or with family makes the boat unique.
We are blessed with some amazing sailing here in Australia, but there is a definite gap that the RS200 fills! My daughter Alana (13) loves sailing and races a variety of boats but it’s hard to find a perfect boat to sail together as a family, and that’s where the 200 is perfect.
Abersoch is a special place for us, my wife and I married there 20 years ago and my brother in law owns the sailing school on the beach. Combine 200’s, Abersoch, and a long overdue trip to the UK and the stars aligned! Can’t wait to get on the water in a 200 again!"
To complete this joyful story, the first person Jonny ever sailed an RS200 with back in 1998 has offered him his daughters boat!
The photos are of Jonny sailing RS200 477 at Abersoch in around 2006.
Online entry will open at 6pm on Saturday 1st February, all the details and the entry link are on the event website here
