IMPORTANT message from your secretariat and event host clubs
Hello RS Sailors,
We need YOU to help us help our host clubs.
This year we have seen an unprecedented number of sailors entering events at the very last minute, this at best makes it hard for the host clubs to plan (imagine having a party and not knowing whether to expect 4 or 44 guests!) and at worst has led to clubs cancelling thinking that events weren't looking viable, only to then be inundated with 'we wanted to come' emails. At the other extreme some clubs have seen greater on-the-day entries than they anticipated from the advance numbers, which not only means there might not be enough lunch, but far more seriously a lower than desired safety ratio.
We know that many RS sailors help organise events at your home club, so you'll know what we are talking about.
Our host clubs are full of loyal, hardworking and enthusiastic volunteers, as well as in some cases staff that have to be paid for. Most host RS events year after year, and we'd like to keep it that way.
So we have a simple, but serious request -
Please look at your events calendar and where at all possible, work out which events you'd like to do and enter those which are already open for entry, including the Nationals and RS Games.
Thank you for helping us to help you!
