Another win for James " The Splash" Sainsbury. What a super weekend we had at Weston, albeit with just the 8 of us. Superb weather, cheAp cider and all the Chinese food you could stuff down. Wind was a bit erratic, for most of the time, until our excellent PRO ditched the last race on Sunday. Result, 30 mins later a perfect steady sea breeze of around 15kt. Typical!
I think everyone was at the front AND the back of the fleet at least once during the weekend, if not every race! But the cream always surfaces to the top. James Sainsbury and Pete Nelson were looking good after the first day despite James taking a swim. A return to form on Sunday's 2 races saw James take it from Pete and a now more consistent Steve Birbeck in 3rd.
Memories of the weekend:
- Perfect camping weather (nearly) if thats possible!
- Learning the art of "Frisbee Flicking"
- Remembering to keep healthy distance from RS700 sailiors
- Reasons for not launching or retrieving at low tide!
