Despite the forecast of light winds for the second event of the RS600 Fat Face Racing Circuit, 10 boats arrived at Draycote. The breeze gradually disappeared as the boats were being rigged and people were contemplating a testing day in the bar in front of the rugby. However, after a short delay the wind made an attempt to fill in and racing got underway. In race one, Matt Humphries made the best of the shifty conditions and led round the windward mark, followed by Jamie Mawson. The places remained the same as the chasing pack got caught amongst the 800 fleet with Alex Knight finding the best route through to claim 3rd. The remainder of the fleet all finished within seconds of each other as David Nunn, displaying his �slick� new sail, slipped from 4th to 8th in the last 10 metres. The second race saw Andy Heissig leading round the first mark, while Paul Molesworth took the more direct route and tried to go through it! Humphries rounded second and took the lead on the run and went on to win. While Heissig and Knight were involved in a battle for second, Mawson sneaked past and came second ahead of Heissig. The third race started the next day in a more consistent force 2. Humphries led and was chased around the course by Mawson and Knight. These three had pulled away but as Humphries crossed the line Mawson and Knight continued to do another lap allowing Moleworth to gain 2nd with Heissig 3rd. Race 4 saw the wind picking up slightly and Rob Jones led the fleet around the first mark, ahead of Humphries. Heissig took the lead on the run and led Humphries and Mawson on the next beat, until gear failure took him out of the race. Humphries won, with Mawson second and Knight 3rd. In race 5 Ali Wyatt went left up the first beat, while the rest of the fleet went right and reached the windward mark in 1st followed by Heissig and Humphries. Humphries then took the lead and won from Heissig and Mawson with Wyatt in 4th. In the final race Humphries made a clean sweep by winning from Knight with Mawson in 3rd.
